Play based learning programs
Babies - 6 weeks to 15 months
Our nursery encourages the babies to learn and grow at their own pace. We emphasise sensory experiences as well as physical development and follow each baby's individual routine.
Toddlers - 15 months to 2 years
Our room is an adventurous and fun environment. We encourage self-help skills, learning and communication between children and their families so that the children feel safe, secure and supported.
Juniors - 2 to 3 years
Our Juniors room is an active nurturing and educational environment where we all come together to play, learn, and grow. Our children grow to become more independent in learning about their own well-being and building all areas of development while having lots fun with learning experiences - and lots of messy play.
Kindy - 3 to 6 years
Our Kindy room class is organised around children's interests and allows the children to play with teacher's guidance, either individually or in small groups. Children are given the opportunity to have indoor and outdoor time, group times for language development, group music time and rest. The teacher uses the early years learning framework to develop the program and monitor the children's learning and development.
At Kalgoorlie Early Learning Centre we value indoor and outdoor spaces equally as places for learning where children can explore, discover and investigate. Our children are given the opportunity to explore within the natural environment and the children are taught to look after the resources and assist with keeping their space tidy, using equipment and resources appropriately/correctly.
Our childcare centre has four playgrounds with large shady areas so that each age group can have their own outdoor space. Two of the yards have large sandpits, and all of them have established garden beds. The Kindy and Junior playgrounds have worm farms.
We are currently in the planning stage of a new and exciting outdoor space for the children and families - so watch this space!
